We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. Below are some of the initiatives we have implemented to date.
We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use dry amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment.
We understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. By removing single-use plastic amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and shower caps from our guest rooms, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint. Instead, guests can request dry amenities by calling room service or visiting our friendly team at reception.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we have made the proactive decision to move to large format amenities, replacing our single-use plastic common amenities with eco-friendly pump dispensers throughout the hotel. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles, we are significantly reducing the amount of waste generated by our operations. This commitment aligns with our dedication to environmental stewardship and reflects our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability in all aspects of our hotel.
At Mantra Albury, we are committed to reducing food wastage and promoting sustainable practices across our food and beverage outlets and conferencing department. We understand the importance of minimising our environmental impact while delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests.
It takes energy to plant, cultivate and harvest foods and it takes even more energy to transport it for processing and storing so we choose to shop locally for our products. Seasonal menus are not just a trend but we select to use seasonal ingredients to support local suppliers which reduces transportation and storage.
We offer a buffet breakfast 7 days a week but we opt to cook in smaller portions to minimise our food wastage. Similarly, we offer an al a carte menu for dinner where we are only cooking-to-order to help minimise our food wastage in the hotel. In addition, our menus include more vegetarian options as animal-based foods can contribute twice the emissions of plant-based foods.
At Mantra Albury, all room hotel waste is separated into co-mingle, cardboard, food waste and general waste, minimising our impact on landfill. In addition we have taken a number of steps to further reduce water and embrace a circular system. We use compostable bin liners (large & small) and only have glass bottles for all water consumption for guests. All cleaning cloths and equipment are sourced locally, building a circular economy.
We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible. As the largest accommodation provider in the community, we believe in leveraging our scope to assist the wider business network. We are a key partner of the local chamber of commerce with our Platinum Sponsorship and have contributed to various organisations through vouchers. We also sponsor the Lavington Panthers Cricket Club supporting comradery and youth collaboration.
Mantra Albury hotel features 7 special access rooms with full wheel chair accessibility. All our function rooms and other facilities in including public toilets are also fully accessible via wheelchair. The property offers undercover, secure parking, of which 2 spots are dedicated for disabled car-parking.
All assistance animals are welcome and Mantra Albury with no restrictions. The property also offers 6 pet friendly rooms that further enhances the ability to travel with pets.
